The 14th Annual Shirley Rod and Gun Club AugustFest

Please join us at the Shirley Rod and Gun Club on Kittredge Rd in Shirley (about 1 mile east of the Bull Run Restaurant on Rte 2A) on Saturday, August 14th from 12:00 noon until dusk for our 14th Annual Augustfest summer bash featuring great food, live music, and lots of fun and games for the whole family.

 

Live Music!

We're very excited to be joined again this year by the Monadnock Bluegrass Band.   This group of talented musicians plays a blend of traditional, contemporary, and original bluegrass tunes that allow their musical abilities to shine.   Their music features a mix of hard driving instrumentals and three part harmonies.   Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, Hot Rize, and Herschel Sizemore are just a few artists whose songs they enjoy singing and playing.

The band has played at many area bluegrass festivals, including Pemi Valley, Blistered Fingers, Ossipee Valley, BBU Springfests, BBU Fallfests, and have appeared at the Cantab Lounge, the Strange Brew Tavern and other venues. In February, 2007, they were the opening band for the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival in Framingham, MA.



Food, Raffles, and Fun!

We'll have a dunk tank at the Augustfest; don't miss this chance to settle old scores and dunk the club officers!   In addition, we'll be holding raffles throughout the day for a variety of prizes.

Our menu for the day:

  • Lobster Dinner - includes salad, rolls, and corn on the cob - $17
  • BBQ Chicken Dinner - includes salad, rolls, and corn on the cob - $10
  • Combo (Lobster and Chicken) Dinner - includes salad, rolls, and corn on the cob - $22
Hamburgers, hot dogs, and beverages will also be available.
